CPS Involvment

CPS was brought in to the case and interviewed both children. At this time my daughter disclosed that her father had kicked her in the stomach and her brother in his legs. She told the CPS case worker that her dad had fallen asleep in his bedroom while watching them, the got in to his closet and played with his shoes. When he woke up he got angry because he couldn't find one of the pair and that's when he lashed out in anger and physically assaulted both children. My son at the time was 3 and my daughter was 5.

During my daughters interview she disclosed that her father had taken a permanent marker and drew a smiley face on her underwear while she was wearing it. That is when questions of sexual abuse surfaced.

The children's father was interviewed by CPS and at this time acknowledge the kicking of my daughter and made the statement "I may have knocked the wind out of her"...he denied kicking my son.

He was banned from seeing the children unsupervised and the CPS safety plan stated that he was allowed to see the children as long as I accompanied the visits - I refused to do as my children were extremely traumatized and in fear of their father.

CPS closed the case on 10/22/2009 and the case was founded - at this time he still had not seen the children.
